  21. daemons.  Not the same thing as demons.

  23. The phrase daemon is not a Sunism, nor for that matter is it a UNIXism.  The
  24. term apparently goes back to the early sixties when they were working on
  25. CTSS, and they appeared in Multics and then UNIX.

  27. The word Daemon is a much older form of demon, and it has no bias towards
  28. either good nor evil.  The Greeks had a concept of a "personal daemon," 
  29. similar to the current concept of a "guardian angel."

  31. Tell you coworker to go look up daemon in a reasonably good dictionary. :-)
