  12. My housemate has got this old Sun 3/60 that we're struggling
  13. to get up and running.  We've got nothing but the software
  14. on the boot tapes, so we're trying to do things like use
  15. "tip" to dial up another system and down load some useful
  16. software...

  18. But for some reason, "tip" will only make a connection at
  19. the default speed of 300 baud.  At any other speed, we get
  20. error messages like "can not synchronize with Hayes" (which
  21. is the kind of modem we're using).

  23. So, without getting into the gory details (like the set-up
  24. of remote, .tiprc, gettytab, etc), does any of this sound
  25. familiar?  Any hints on what kinds of things we should try?
