- My housemate has got this old Sun 3/60 that we're struggling
- to get up and running. We've got nothing but the software
- on the boot tapes, so we're trying to do things like use
- "tip" to dial up another system and down load some useful
- software...
-
- But for some reason, "tip" will only make a connection at
- the default speed of 300 baud. At any other speed, we get
- error messages like "can not synchronize with Hayes" (which
- is the kind of modem we're using).
-
- So, without getting into the gory details (like the set-up
- of remote, .tiprc, gettytab, etc), does any of this sound
- familiar? Any hints on what kinds of things we should try?
