- In article <chris.714367044@rufus> chris@state.COM.AU (Chris Keane) says:
- :
- : Whatever you do, avoid Wordperfect like the plague. I WON a copy (yes,
- : free) completely by accident and even after that am completely
- : unimpressed with it. Unless of course you really didn't want a wysiwyg
- : and enjoy using PCs (because that's exactly what it's like)
-
- Let me guess...you got WP 5.0 right? I too was appalled by it. But,
- based on a few recommendations we got an upgrade to WP5.1 (released
- just recently). I haven't tested it fully but it bears almost no
- similarity to the 5.0 version. That silly X wrapper around a terminal
- interface is gone and it now has REAL wysiwyg like IslandWrite or
- Frame. The interface is Motif which may bother some.
-
- As I said, I haven't really used it enough to make recommendations for
- or against it...but I can certainly say that opinions based on version
- 5.0 are no longer applicable. It has a COMPLETELY different interface
- (at least, it does under X).
