- Hi, I'm new to this group, but I doubt that these questions are in the FAQ, so
- here goes (If they are in the FAQ, don't flame me, just tell me where to get
- it):
-
- 1) First I am using SunOS 4.1.1 and OW 3.0 on a SparcStation 2.
-
- 2) Right now, I am stuck with rn for reading, and replying to news (because
- my sysop is not the least bit interested in supporting Internet use). Is
- there a better news reader for this environment, that I can install and
- use without root priviledges? Mostly, I want to be able to select a
- newsgroup from a list (rather than typing "g news.group"), and be able to
- scan the subjet lines in a list without having to display the whole article.
-
- 3) I have found that the filemanager craps out if I try to change directories
- too many times. If I restart and try again, it does fine (until I have
- changed dir's too many times again). It does not consistantly crap out
- after say changing dirs 10 times. Has anyone else seen this? If so,
- how do I fix it? Or, is it a quirk of my system?
-
- 4) Finally, MOST of the messages in this group seem to be related to major
- problems with SunOS and OW. Users trading fixes is great, but does all
- of this feedback ever get to Sun? I know, that I have nothing but
- TROUBLE when I tried to call Sun's Tech support line (they only wanted
- to talk to my system maintance contact!), so I'm stuck with little or
- no support. I have had contact with Sun employees who were a pleasure
- to deal with through the net, but they don't work in OW support or
- development. What all of this is leading up to is: Is there an e-mail
- address at Sun that we can send comments to, regarding problems with
- their products?
-
- PLEASE reply by mail to:

-
- If I get more than two requests for this info, I will post to the net in a few
- days, rather than send out multiple copies.
-
-
- Thanks in advance
- Chris Tully
