- I am attempting to install Sun OS 4.1.1 on our Sun 3/160 which is currently
- running 3.5. I will eventually go all the way to 4.1.2, but this is an
- intermediate step.
-
- The manual indicates that I should boot MUNIX from the distribution tape
- before repartitioning the disk, so I tried the two commands they list, with
- the following results:
-
- >b st(0,0,0)
- [long wait, and tape is being read]
- Exception 10 at 00004004

- -------
-
- >b st(0,0,4) -asw
- [long wait, and tape is being read]
- stclose: mode select command fail
- Exception 10 at 00004006

- I cannot find any information about possible error conditions despite the
- voluminous nature of the documentation. Can anyone tell me what I am doing
- wrong?
-
- Thanks in advance.
