  18. I have an interesting problem with NeWSprint.

  20. Scenario:
  21.  
  22.     Print several manual fed pages in a row via Word Perfect.
  23.  
  24. Setup:
  25.     1 SPARCprinter attached to a IPC running NeWSprint 2.0a
  26.     4 Word Perfect 5.0 (1/17/92) users with a Apple Laserwriter Driver.
  27.     
  28. What Happens:
  29.     When trying to print three consecutive letterhead (manual fed) pages one
  30.     of the following happens.
  31.  
  32.     a) It prints the first time and the second time looses the entire print
  33.     job.
  34.     b) looses the print job.
  35.     c) prints the first sheet then looses the rest of the print job.
  36.     d) crashes newsprint to it's knees thus needing to be re-booted. 
  37.        (kill -9 / 15 ) don't work.

  39. Steps taken:
  40.  
  41.     Sun:
  42.         1) Got a loaner SPARCprinter.
  43.         2) Re-Installed newsprint
  44.         3) Tried the file at Mountainview.
  45.         4) Replace cabling
  46.         etc....
  47.     Word Perfect:
  48.         1) Tried different drivers.
  49.         2) Tried beta copies of WP.
  50.         etc....

  52. Current status:
  53.  
  54.     Sun:    "This postscript is 'Unstructured' therefore theres really 
  55.          nothing we can do'"
  56.         
  57.         BTW.  I have the _PostScript Language Reference Manual_ by Adobe
  58.               and I cannot find any refference to "Unstructured
  59.               Postscript".

  61.     Word Perfect:

  63.         "It looks as though we may have to write a new driver for the
  64.          SPARCprinter"

  66.         I could have told them that a while ago.

  68. Odities:
  69.  
  70.     Pageview will not render this file correctly either it will simply
  71.     overwrite all pages on top of eachother.
  72.  
  73.     Ghostscript/Ghostview renders this file correctly.
  74.  
  75.     My files print correctly when taken to a MAC and printed on other PS 
  76.     printers.

  78. Now the Question:

  80.     Has anyone ever had this problem?  If so have they overcome it in any way?
  81.     Have I missed anything?  Any suggestions?
  82.     Is SUN/WP listening?
