- We recently upgraded one of our Indigo's to 4.0.5 from 4.0.1. Now, when the
- user runs xview applications (such as mailtool, cmdtool, etc.) they come
- up on the Indigo, but when one does a mouse click inside this application,
- the entire X-server appears to hang for subsequent mouse events.
- Killing the client program "frees" the Server, and the mouse events
- are then accepted.
-
- These applications were done routinely with IRIX4.0.1.
- "Pure" X based applications (such as xterm and xsol) work OK, but
- xview applications as mentioned above cause this problem.
- Same behavior from both OpenWindows 2 & 3.
-
- You can duplicate this problem in <30 seconds. On a "vanilla" 4.0.5
- machine, do the xhost/DISPLAY stuff, and then fire up an xterm from
- the Sun to make sure you did everything right. After confirming that,
- fire up a cmdtool/mailtool/whatever and click inside the application.
- Click on a few other windows (nothing happens), then kill the client.
-
- I've taken a look at TFM, and would sure like to know a workaround for this.
- Thanx in advance - I'll summarize if enough interest and/or eat humble pie
- if I've missed something obvious! ;-)
