- I would like to use OrCAD on our workstations. I am currently trying to
- install an evaluation copy. Unfortunately, I have not been able to
- bring up OrCAD in our environment. While OrCAD is designed for
- OpenWindows, we run X11R4 xdm. I do get some signs of life. The
- immediate problem is that OrCAD looks for special OrCAD fonts
- installed in /usr/openwin/lib/fonts during the initialization
- procedure. Running under xdm, OrCAD can't find these fonts.
-
- Can OrCAD be made to work under xdm? If not, can we run our existing
- X11R4 applications under OpenWindows? Can we run twm instead of olwm?
- Can we avoid having two sets of user dotfiles, one of SPARCs running
- OpenWindows and one for our SPARCs and DECstations running xdm?
-
- I would very much appreciate advice and guidance. We would like to
- run OrCAD but we would like to avoid drastic user-visible changes to
- our X environment.
