- hallihallo,
-
- since my last backup, I had trouble adding any user into our i386 machine.
- The problem is: If I want to allow an extern user to use
- this machine via TCP/IP, we use the snap-admin tool to enter the user.
- Then it tries to create the users home directory and display a message
- on the screen that snap is unable to create the home dir. I take a
- look, but snap has created it. The next message, I think, and the greatest
- problem is NIS checks all hosts around, and if it came to itself, it dies.
-
- My question is: can I add user without the snap-tool (how), and will this
- solve my problem.
-
- Many, many thanks in advance,
-
- Harald
