- Can anyone explain what these messages mean? I didn't find anything in
- the manual pages that could help me.
-
- ifconfig ec0 leads to the following output:
-
- ec0: flags=e67<UP,BROADCAST,DEBUG,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,ALLMULTI,FILTMULTI,MULTICAST>
- inet 129.69.14.180 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 129.69.14.255

- Additionally we have a problem with NFS in that it transfers data
- (write only) in a kind of burst mode. This is like: two or three
- hundred KB are transferred, then there are a few seconds delay, then
- the next some hundred KB are transfered and so on. Watching this with
- nfsstat shows that everytime when it stops for a while afterwards
- timeout and retrans are incremented by one. Maybe the reason for the
- timeout has something to do with the ifconfig error messages. (they
- don't coincide in time).
-
- I don't know if these two problems are related, maybe, but ftp for
- example works fine.
-
-
- Thanks in Advance
