- I'm not sure what you mean. To get 16M with 2M SIMMs, you would stuff
- 4 2M SIMMs into 2 banks, which would leave you with 2 banks (8 sockets) free.

-
- It is written down here:
- There are 3 different kinds of SIMMs available: 2M, 4M and 8M. Here are the
- rules for SIMM stuffing
-
- 1 You can place 4 of the same size SIMM in any bank you want.
-
- 2 You can only have 1 bank of 4M SIMMs. Having more than one bank of 4M
- SIMMs will confuse the memory controller, which will come up with an
- erroneous memory map. There is no restriction for 2M and 8M SIMMs.
-
- 3 You can mix and match any size SIMM you want, as long as the above two
- rules are adhered to.
-
- The 4D/35 has the banks arranged the same way as the 4D/20 and 4D/25, which
- is different than the Indigo. Each bank can be identified by looking on the
- silkscreen between the SIMMs. They are labeled SIMM A<1-4>, SIMM B<1-4>,
- SIMM C<1-4>, and SIMM D<1-4>. These correspond to banks A, B, C, and D,
- respectively. When you populate a bank, put the four SIMMs in the same
- alphabet group.
