- We here at Ford SciLabs are in a rather interesting dilemma, one in which
- perhaps others in the SGI/OPENGl community may find themselves.
-
- We need to start developing our OpenGL application "now", and really do not
- relish the thought of writing regular old code for nine months and then
- having to rewrite it in OpenGL again. I was hired to initiate a project in
- Open GL and was disappointed to learn of how long it will take before OpenGL
- will be shipped.
-
- Has anyone given any thought to
- writing a quick-n-dirty temp version of the OpenGL library, using old
- GL calls? I know it wouldnt work for heavy duty stuff, but a certain
- portion of the lib could perhaps be worked out for less intricate code.
-
- Do you think it could work? I'd like to hear "your" opinions before I actually
- attempt it! Maybe,if there's enough interest, efforts could be coordinated for a quick implementation..
