- To any 'draw' users out there:
-
- It appears that 'draw' tends to die on systems that have been upgraded from
- a 4D/20 to a 4D/35. The symptom is 'draw' hanging with a blank screen and
- the martini cursor. This is accompanied by SYSLOG messages of the form:
-
- Aug 15 14:25:32 unix: WARNING: Gr1PixelDma: TIMEOUT gfx DMA did not complete (line by line)
- Aug 15 14:25:32 unix:
- Aug 15 14:25:32 unix:
- Aug 15 14:25:32 unix: WARNING: Graphics error: base = 0xBF000000 GE PC = 6353
-
- Apparently, a fix is to have the graphics board upgraded. THIS IS NOT
- AN OFFICIAL SGI STATEMENT, it just seems to work.
-
- I don't know what it is that 'draw' does that triggers this, but I haven't
- seen the problem here since the graphics board was upgraded. If anyone knows
- of a software fix I'd appreciate hearing about it.
