  12. Because of the way logical unit i/o is implemented on SGI FORTRAN, 
  13. we have to do a flush on a file descriptor.  Does any one know
  14. how to do that without writing assembly code?  Or does anyone
  15. happen to have any assembly code routine which allows us to 
  16. do that?
