- I've seen this with the old QIC-24 Cipher SCSI drives, but never
- with QIC-150. 'man tps' describes when ENODEV is returned, but
- none seem to match your description.

- About all that I can think of is that you have a loose SCSI or
- power cable, and when you change the tapes, the connector is
- jiggled, making or breaking the connection. So I'd check the
- cabling.
