- Here is the situation we are in
- A Crimson (4.0.4) with a 1.6Gb + 2 X 1Gb(external) Drives acting as
- a file server.
-
- ~12 PI's running some flavor of 3.3 acting as clients
-
- We are using the PIs for compiles and loads (Why we are using the PIs
- and not the Crimson or an indigo is a very long story, and I believe
- that it can not be resolved until SVR4).
-
- Anyway here is the problem. On random occasions (does not look like it
- is related to the load on the server) when our source management
- utilities are looking for source or object files at several different
- levels, it fails to find em. You probably can imagine the outcome. I increased
- the timeo to 20 from the default 7 they still happen. Looked at nfsstat
- no bad calls!!
-
- Has anyone experienced a problem like this??
-
- Thanks
-
- Ali
