  11. We have been working very hard for two weeks now to narrow a
  12. knotty issue where irix gets hung after tape read operations.

  14. No login or shell will work, user processes stop, the cursor moves when
  15. you wiggle the mouse until you have done this for two or three seconds
  16. and then the cursor freezes in place (I assume the interrupt service
  17. routine finds that the input buffer is full).

  19. We just got our official Iris Partner shipment of 4.0.5A, which contained
  20. a letter from Carol J. Buckreus, Mgr CSD Software Distribution.

  24.     We are in the process of planning a revision of 4.0.5A
  25.     which will address an NFS LockD bug which limits the number
  26.     of locked files and a Crimson R4000 kernel bug...

  28. Can someone explain the bug referred to at the end of that sentence so
  29. that we can consider it a possibility or rule it out?  We are taking our
  30. hang problem through the TAC (#115939) but the above quotation is
  31. unsettling to us.
