  20. |OK for the sake of honesty I must now eat crow.  We have removed kinet lat R11 
  21. |v4.3 form our 4d/240 and the problem still stands.  However we are leaving it
  22. |off because it corrupted our /etc/wtmp file.  So the only factor to change was
  23. |IRIX 4.0.1 to IRIX 4.0.4.  We hope the upgrade to IRIX 4.0.5 will fix it.

  31.   The wtmp corruption occured because our software was compiled on Irix 3.3
  32.   which has a different utmp element structure than exists on Irix 4.x.  We
  33.   have since recompiled our software on Irix 4.0.1 and the wtmp corruption
  34.   no longer exists.  We plan to be shiping our software for Irix 4.x within
  35.   the coming week.
