- You don't say what release you are now on...

- A) If your slowness is due to NFS traffic due to
- remote mounted directories
- and
- B) If your upgrade was to 4.0.4 or earlier

- 1). you may get some benefit from upgrading to 4.0.5 and the 3.10 compilers
- (both have been released).

- 2) Be sure that you do NOT remote-mount directly on top of a directory in /

- Try removing the -g flag. If that speeds up compilation significantly,
