- We have a 4D/340 (with 128 Mb RAM, 512 Mb swap) that is being used as
- our central mail machine here on campus. We are expecting to get 300
- concurrent users on the machine (we are around 60 right now). Does
- anyone have this many simultaneous user on a machine like this? If so
- what resource limits did you bump into along the way? For example, We
- had trouble getting over 45 concurrent users initially, because we
- were running out of stream event resources (see output of netstat -m).
- We bumped up NSTREVENT in the kernel and that got us going again.
- Other info about the system that might help: only one serial port in
- use (for the console), all users will be logging in over the network
- using telnet, rlogin, etc.
-
- Thanks!
