- We have a small Novell network consisting of 5 IBM PS/2 Model 70s
- with 3C523 ethernet cards as clients running MSDOS 5.0, IPX, and NETX.
- The Server is a PS/2 Model 95 486 with another 3C523 ethernet card,
- IBM PS2 SCSI card with cache. The Server's Novell 3.11 datecode is 2/20/91.
- Unfortunately this whole thing was setup way before I took this job
- and I inherited its main problem: printing. When any of the clients
- (with WordPerfect 5.1) print to the server attached LaserJet IID
- (via LPT1 on the server), they get random garbage/junk thrown into
- the documents they submit 50% of the time. I've tried using WordPerfect
- with AND without (the latter via WordPerfect's built-in Novell print
- support) Novell's CAPTURE. I've directly connected the LaserJet IID to
- a client and printed successfully. I booted the server in DOS and used
- a minimal copy of WordPerfect and printed successfully. Its not
- the client hardware and its not the printer, its somewhere in the Novell code
- (client side or server side).
-
- Anyone seen this before? I'm at wits end on this problem.
