You have brought up a good point . . . .
Most Novell users have forget that they can add new harddrive space to an
existing partition without loosing exixting data.
Also, From what a Novell Educator friend of mine says . . . there is no
advantage in having a second volume for MACintosh, since its name space
can be loaded along side the existing name space on the DOS partition.
This is a great advantage since you no longer have to worry about which
volume to give what space to. (not Necc true if you need NFS name space,BTW)
My suggestion, is that you backup both volumes, and make it just one volume
then load the MAC name space BEFORE you mount the SYS: volume. Then restore
both of the previous volumes. Please keep in mind that it involves
re-doing the Bindery. - I know, a lot of work :-( Then, once you get the new
400MB drive, just add its space using the install utility - look under something
like . . . adding partitions . . . .I cant remember off hand. You can call me
in my office ( I'll bet you didn't know that I am your Novell Support for
Cal Poly SLO!!!! Network Administration x1295
You also have the option of splitting the new 400MB drive into two partitions
, and adding one to each of the existing volumes. This not having to re-enter
your bindery! I hope that you guess correctly on how to split up the new
drive. . . .
There are a few other options . . . You will probably hear most of them on
this newsgroup.
Give me a call, and we'll get you taken care of :-)
