- Yes you will need to use either the FastPath or the GatorBox. These devices can
- route TCP/IP to/from the LocalTalk cable. The DL2000 (LocalTalk NIC) and driver
- can only route packets to the AppleTalk stack in the file server. So, not only
- would TCP/IP traffic not be recieved by the DL2000 driver (under the default
- conditions) but even if those packets chould be recieved by the driver, they
- would be forwarded to the AppleTalk routing stack, and not the TCP/IP routing
- stack. So again, the bottom line is "Yes," you will need a FastPath like box to
- route the TCP/IP traffic from the LocalTalk LAN to the EtherNet LAN.
