  13. I have a weird one...
  14.  
  15. I recently left my NeXT for a little over a month and went to Japan (among  
  16. other places).
  17.  
  18. When I returned I opened NewsGrazer and found that every single article had  
  19. expired and had been deleted (I have crontab automatically zip 'em after two  
  20. weeks). Nothing new had been distributed to the proper folders.
  21.  
  22. However, when I checked /usr/spool/news/in.coming, I found that it had a little  
  23. over 16 megabytes of news which had come in and which hadn't been distributed  
  24. by newsrun (which runs very morning at 3 AM).
  25.  
  26. I ran newsrun from the command line (logged in as news) and got my prompt back  
  27. much too quickly. There was no eternity of hard disk labor and everything  
  28. stayed where it had been. 
  29.  
  30. What on Earth could this be?

  32. One possible clue: for at least a month I have been getting the following  
  33. message every morning:

  46. Help! Please! I suspect there are things going on in rec.music.gdead which I  
  47. might be able to clear up. But I can't know what they are if I can't read it.
