- Howdy:
-
- I'm having a bit of a problem with some directories that I'm mounting vi an
- entry in the / doamin of the NetInfo hierarchy
-
- I want to mount /usr/local on all machines in our network from our server
- machine. OK, So I put an entry in netinfo that mounts
- machine:/ExternalDisk/local onto /usr/local, options are hard, bg,rw.
- Everything works great except on the server machine itself. On the Server,
- anytime I try to write to /usr/local/bin, for example, the system hangs.
- Rock solid. Rigid. Saucer mode. You get the idea.
-
- I'm sure I'm just missing someting stupid, but I can't seem to get this
- straight. Is there something wierd about autonfsmount that won't let me
- mount something from the same machine. Is this some kind of terrible No-No,
- that I'm unaware of?
-
- I realize that I could just mount it as /Net/server/ExternalDisk/local, and
- set up a symbolic link on all the machines, but then I have to do it on ALL
- THA MACHINES, and I thought netinfo was supposed to solve problems like
- that.....
-
- Thanks,
-
