  12. I know a person who's responsible for his company's computer
  13. strategy,
  14. the company are evaluating several platforms at the moment, but I try
  15. to push them towards the NeXT. They have some specs. that _have_ to
  16. be fulfilled, or the NeXT is out of the question (this could be a
  17. sale of
  18. maybe a couple of hundred machines during the next few years)
  19. I wonder, are there solutions for the following functions on the
  20. NeXT, and
  21. what are the limitations of the solutions.
  22.
  23. * 3270 terminal emulation (heard something about 3270Vision) together
  24. with
  25.   IBM 5250 terminal emulation (AS/400), these two emulators must be
  26. able to
  27.   coexist.
  28.
  29. * Workstations without disk booting from a server
  30.
  31. * Some sort of GUI-development toolkit that enables you to create a
  32. GUI for your
  33.   mainframe or AS/400 apps.
  34.   (There are a couple of these for the pc-windows and pc-os/2
  35. environments..)
  36.
  37. I'd be grateful if someone would help me out with these questions,
  38.
