- You're right. You don't know what you're talking about.
- As mentioned in the previous article, the IIf and IIg don't simulate
- 600dpi. That's incorrect. They sharpen the text and simulate 67 levels
- of gray (quite nicely.. MUCH better then PostScript alone). The quality
- on a IIg (images and text) is much better then what I get out of my 400dpi
- NeXT printer.. And these are networkable/workgroup printers. It's totally
- outrageous to use an LW Plus AND even a IINTX, because these are old
- (discontinued) printers with older engines, older controllers.. Older
- everything.
- I have actually printed full-page images(which look better then from the
- NeXT printer) on a IIg on Ethernet (and an Ethernet Mac) and have it pop out
- of the IIg before it comes out of a 16MB NeXT.. Of course, printing to
- the IIg (ANYONE printing to the IIg) doesn't slow anyone down at all, like
- it would when printed to a NeXTprinter.
