- Are Squash's file formats (and compression algorithms) publicly known?
- Is there a way to unSquash files from the command line?
- Is there an unSquasher that runs on anything other than a 680x0 NeXT?

- tar & compress pass those criteria. So do many other compression
- and archiving utilities.

- Trusting one's data to a proprietary (and unique) scheme strikes
- me as incredibly foolish. Using it for software distribution is
- questionable at best.
