  13. I ordered my CDROM drive around the 6th of June, and received the cable that
  14. goes with it three weeks ago, as I previously posted to this group.

  16. After checking with our bookstore, I was told that I'd not receive the CDROM
  17. until sometime in September.

  19. This caused me to ask myself a question:  Why do I own a NeXT?  I've taken
  20. a good look at PeeCee systems, and find that I could have a pretty nice, faster
  21. setup for less money than what I could sell my 'station for.  Unfortunately
  22. for me, I'm pretty attached to UNIX.  But not so attached that I'm willing
  23. to wait three months for a CDROM drive to come in.

  25. Does NeXT even realize that getting its 3.0 release out on time means
  26. absolutely nothing to those people who don't have the CDROM drives they
  27. ordered to read the release with?  Am I going to get the release *before*
  28. the drive?  *Should* I sell my NeXT in favor of a market where I can go
  29. buy off-the-shelf things down the street for cheaper than mail-order NeXT
  30. equipment??

  37. PS:  If someone has an email address at NeXT to which I can pipe my sob
  38.      story to let them try and convince me that I'll continue using the
  39.      computer for the 90's *in* the 90's, let me know.
