- I would suggest getting the Supra modem since ISDN seems to be much more
- difficult to get going. First you need the ISDN box, then you need to get
- an ISDN service from the phone company, and then you can only call other ISDN
- people unless the phone company (or somebody else) has a pool of modems and
- fax machines that can be accessed from ISDN. At least that is how I understand
- it to work. If I am not quite right, please correct me. I looked into this
- before, but from the computer network side. I wanted to get a fast connection
- to machines on campus from home. Somebody said that both ends needs to be on
- ISDN to get that to work (makes sense :) ). Seeing that it would be difficult
- to convince the powers that be to spring for an ISDN terminal on campus, I
- dropped that idea pretty quick and went to faster modems.
