I have a NeXT cube 68040 version 2.0 of the system.

I recently obtained a Summus gigatape drive that is about 2 years old. It
uses 8mm tapes that can hold up to 2.1 Gigabytes each.  (I am hoping to use it
to back up several systems.)  The gigatape has a SCSI port which I have
connected to the NeXT (it has a terminator on the other SCSI connection).

I have tried connecting this device with several different port numbers, but
so far the NeXT does not detect the device at boot time.

Is there something simple I'm missing?  Has anyone else tried connecting this
device to a NeXT?

I've tried contacting the company, but all their phones have been
disconnected.
