- Well here is my $0.02 about this problem. At least for me the problem
- does appear to be the connection between the speaker/led contacts and
- the mother board. The first thing I noticed was my power LED on the
- front of the IIsi was getting dimmer and sometimes flickered. Then the
- sound started to flake out too. I found that a light slap to the side of the
- IIsi case would fix both problems temporarily. I suspect that this problem
- is caused by electrolysis between two dissimilar metals in contact with each
- other while a current passes through them. The metal with the lower galvanic
- voltage will corrode breaking the contact. I have yet to take the thing
- apart to verify this. If I find anything when I do I will summarize to the
- net.
