- This is a technical no-no (kinda like plugging in your keyboard when the
- machine is on), but why not boot the machine then, when it appears to be
- done thrashing, plug in the monitor to see if there's an error message
- or some such. I've done this a few times, without a problem, but Apple
- would probably have you believe that such action will absolutely cause
- your machine to explode...
