  14.      Appearantly (this is just a guess, but rather likely) your friend's
  15. installer failed to ad DA Handler, or the copy there is corrupt...perhaps he
  16. used the minimal installation, and has an old multifinder already there...? 
  17.      Anyway, the reason for this is that under Multifinder DAs no longer cling
  18. to the current application, depending on it for memory and essential
  19. functions...DAs are like applications WITh all the basic APPL functions
  20. missing...because under Multifinder the application the DA might be relating to
  21. is going to change periodically. So they have DA Handler, which has all the
  22. usual APPL functions built into it...and if that's not installed then
  23. Multifinder hasn't the foggiest idea what to do with the DAs...
