  13. I think I've found a bug in TextEdit in System 7. I've verified it by
  14. booting of the System Tools disk (S-7.0.1) and running TeachText (S-7.0).

  16. The bug is that sometimes when moving the insertion point with the left
  17. arrow key, the insertion point ends up in a wrong position.

  19. What happens is that (sometimes) when the insertion point is between char
  20. 1 and 2 of a line and you press the left arrow key, the insertion point
  21. moves to the end of the previous line (ie not to before char 1 on the
  22. current line, as it should).

  24. To test it, enter a few lines like these below in TeachText (press return
  25. at the end of each line):

  28. gfgfgfgf
  29. gfgfgffg

  31. Put the insertion point somewhere in the middle of line 2 or 3, and press
  32. the left arrow key to see what happens. (If it works, try again. The bug
  33. seems to appear 1 time in 10 or so).

  35. Is this a know bug? Is there a workaround? My main concern is not
  36. TeachText, but I have the same problem in my own app.
