- While I haven't seen this on Quadras, I have seen it on LC's. To wit,
- calls to SndPlay from bg apps frequently cause MS apps to die. Even
- notification manager sounds can kill MS apps on LC's, should an application
- have the temerity to try to take the user's attention away from a
- Gates baby. F-line errors are the crash of choice.

- Your problem may or may not be related to this; but it sounds
- suspiciously similar to me. Try WriteNow or Nisus or WordPerfect for a
- while, and see if the problem disappears.
