- help. I got the suitcase 2.1.1. updater off of sumex or some such
- thing, took it home, unbinhexed and unarchived. I then followed the
- instructions to the best of my ability, dragging a copy of Suitcase
- 2.0 from the extensions folder (am running 7.01 +tuneup on IIsi 5/80)
- to the folder containing the updater. I launched the update and
- updated the app, then dragged the original out of the extensions
- folder to a third folder, replaced it with the updated copy (renamed
- to 2.1.1) and rebooted. On reboot, I discovered my original app back
- where it began and the copy had been un-updated and corrupted, back in
- the folder containing the update.
-
- I tried removing Applicon, rebooting and redoing the same update
- steps. same result. I tried removing Suitcase from the extensions
- folder altogether, then updating a copy. same result.
-
- I'm not running any other funky extensions or control panels that I
- can think of. what stupid thing am I doing wrong? (I haven't checked
- to see whether the app. was locked...duh...but I don't think it
- is...).
-
- this is a brand new IIsi, with an even newer logic board (the original
- was f***ed up when I got it) plus a Nubus adaptor.
-
- please help. email to bsala@ucsd.edu or post. thanks
