- We've recently installed a new feature in our Comten FEP (it's a
- alternative to an IBM 3475 FEP) which connects our mainframe systems
- into our campus Internet. From our local Unix systems or from our DOS
- PC's we can execute versions of Tn3270 and connect to our IBM hosts.
- The situation isn't the same from those of us with Mac's, however.
-
- Using the version of Tn3270 from Brown Univ (Version 2.3D26 MacTCP) I'm
- not able to establish a connection. I get a "full screen" window with a
- 4-A-[box] on the lower left corner and a System "clock" in the middle
- left. That's it. No VTAM "splash" screen etc.
-
- The folks at Comten indicate that they believe the Brown Tn3270 (this
- same version) should work just fine, but when we've run a trace it
- seems like the Brown Tn3270 isn't negotiating properly. I am able to
- connect to other IBM host systems around the country (like BROWNVM,
- etc) with no problems.
-
- Anyone got any ideas? Any help would be MOST appreciated. Thanks,
-
