  27. The phenomenon appeared when I upgraded from 6.0.2 to 6.0.7.  Probably
  28. came with new Sound Manager about 6.0.5.  Somewhat disconcerting, because
  29. in 6.0.2, I had come to recognize any unexpected speaker noise as symptom
  30. of wild store into sound buffer and prelude to likely system crash.
