  21. I've had a similar problem on two separate Macs, my work and home
  22. machines. The work machine is an SE/30 5MB, networked; the home
  23. machine is an SE, 4MB, not networked (except occasionally with ARA).

  25. Rebuilding the desktop has NOT worked for me (the obvious answer). But
  26. what has worked (most but not all of the time) is to use ResEdit or
  27. any other program that can modify finder flags, make the Desktop DB
  28. and Desktop DF files visible, and then trash them.

  30. This only started happening to me recently but I haven't really
  31. changed anything -- except installing the latest Alliance disk drivers
  32. (could that be it?).
