- Here's a problem that may stump quite a few people, but...
-
- One day, I FTP'ed some GIF files from wuarchive.wustl.edu onto our UNIX
- server. Then, using TCP Connect, I FTP'ed them over to my local host (IIsi).
- Using Giffer, I tried to look at them, but couldn't find them (a problem
- which I later solved--have to open with cmd-opt-O, not just cmd-O), so I
- deleted them. A week later, I'm using ResEdit and notice that in this directory
- these GIF files have returned. Puzzled, I go to Finder and discover that
- they're not there. Using "Get Info" in ResEdit, I discover that they've become
- invisible, with creator types made out of unreadable characters (squares).
- So I make them visible and erase them. All except for one. A "Get Info" on
- this file elicits, "This alias cannot be opened because its file cannot be
- found" (or something like that). So the question, how can I get rid of it?
- Any takers? Thanks in advance
