- The newly discontinued Powerbook 100 with 4 MB and 40 MB hard drive was
- selling through Price Club for somewhere around $900. The 100 uses a 16MHz
- 68000 CPU, roughly on a par with the Mac Classic. 2/20 versions of the 100
- can probably be had for around $750. No internal floppy drive, but most
- I've seen include one external 1.4MB 3.5" Superdrive. It can be expanded
- to 8MB and an internal modem can be installed. The 2400 baud modem sells for
- around $250; there's a 14.4kb model for much more. The Powerbook 100
- features System 7, a 9 inch LCD backlit display, weighs about 6.5 pounds,
- and measures 8.5"x11"x1.75".
-
- Get one while you can. It's well worth the price, and the price is awfully
- good.
