-
- Well, first of all its Performa, not Persona. And the new macs
- coming out are the Perfoma 600, IIvx, IIvi, Powerbook Duo 210, Duo 230,
- 160 and 180. The Performa is the mass market release (read: Sears
- version) of the IIvx, and the IIvi and IIvx are the replacements for the
- IIsi and the IIci respectively. The Powerbook Duos are the new Dockable
- PowerBooks for people who use a PowerBook as their main computer. All of
- the new PowerBooks will have color video output and a 4bit gray-scale
- screen (the 180 gets an Active-matrix and the others get supertwist).
- I'm not going to go into any more real detail here, but I will try to
- answer the rest of your questions.
-

-
- No clue.
-
- >And is the gray-scale PowerBook 8-bit?
-
- Nope, its 4bit like I said above.

-
- Well, if you want color for your powerbook currently you will need
- to spend about another $5000, but it is possible.

-
- Well, what do you mean by decent speed. The 180 is supposed to be a
- 33(32?) MHz '030 with an FPU. That's pretty damn fast.
-
- >Also, is the Quadra 950 still going to be the fastest Mac after
- >the new Macs are released?
-
- Yup. The 950 will be the fastest mac until the Cyclone is released
- sometime next spring (according to Vaporware).
-
- >One MINOR question: Are the Persona series going to have "Macintosh"
- >labeled on the case front, or "Persona"? Or "Macintosh Persona"?
-
- I would imagine they will say Macintosh Performa, as well as having
- the Apple Logo on them somewhere.
