  25. You put it in very appropriate terms.
  26. The difference is that the MacOS is not a face to anything
  27. (accessible to the regular user).
  28. Because Windows is a face to DOS, it's constrained by DOS limitations
  29. such as 8.3 naming scheme. While PC users can't wait for NT (Microsoft's
  30. new stand-alone 32-bit OS) we, Mac users have been enjoing 32-bit OS since
  31. the first Mac II family.
