- Well, I just tried formatting a 1.44 as 720 on the old NEC
- PowerMate gathering dust in the corner of my office, and it
- barfed all over the place (it is a rather old machine though).
- Last year we also had a batch of PowerMate 3's (?) in our student
- labs, which would quite happily format 720 disks as HD. Then when
- they came to me with a problem, my machine wouldn't recognise the
- disks until I covered the hole. Maybe it's just old hardware at
- work...
