- Hi Mac folks,
-
- I have a Mac II with a Daystar PowerCard 030 in it and a SuperMac Spectrum 8
- video card, and a Exelan LAN card as well. My question and my problem is
- thus:
-
- Every once and a while I have been losing the configuration of the Supermac
- video card. It will power up and think that I am using the Apple 14"
- display instead of the 16" inch one that is configured. I then have to plug
- in the 14" monitor and reset the control panel data to the correct card and
- restart. Usually when this happens one or more of my usual folder windows
- that I leave open will not have the correct size or location.
-
- My question is this, what is going on? Is this some sort of PRAM problem?
- Is it maybe a battery-backup problem? The Supermac folk have no ideas or
- solutions, the local Apple techs are such a laugh that they make my sides
- ache! (One said that it must be a motherboard problem, it'll have to come
- out! Yea right - ever hear of a P-RAM? <Dumb look, then explanation of what
- the motherboard does...>
-
- Anyone have any ideas, part numbers?
-
- Thanks,
- DLC
