  10. I'm a novice Mac user and I just bought a Mac IIsi.  It had 5 Mb of
  11. memory in it but I want to upgrade it to at least 8 Mb.  I've read
  12. the manuals that came with the Mac but they aren't clear as to what
  13. combinations of simms I can install to get the 8 Mb.

  17. 1. There are four simm slots.  I understand that I have to install
  18.    pairs of the same type of simm.  But do I have to fill all four
  19.    slots with some type of simm or can two of the four slots stay
  20.    empty?

  22. 2. If I have to fill all four slots with something, do they all
  23.    have to have the same type of simm?  Or can I mix a pair of
  24.    4 Mb simms with a pair of 2 Mb simms, for example?

  26. 3. I saw someone in this group refer to a posting about problems
  27.    with 4-Mb 8-chip simms.  Can someone summarize this posting for
  28.    me via e-mail or send me a copy of that posting?
