- I'm a novice Mac user and I just bought a Mac IIsi. It had 5 Mb of
- memory in it but I want to upgrade it to at least 8 Mb. I've read
- the manuals that came with the Mac but they aren't clear as to what
- combinations of simms I can install to get the 8 Mb.
-
- Questions:
-
- 1. There are four simm slots. I understand that I have to install
- pairs of the same type of simm. But do I have to fill all four
- slots with some type of simm or can two of the four slots stay
- empty?
-
- 2. If I have to fill all four slots with something, do they all
- have to have the same type of simm? Or can I mix a pair of
- 4 Mb simms with a pair of 2 Mb simms, for example?
-
- 3. I saw someone in this group refer to a posting about problems
- with 4-Mb 8-chip simms. Can someone summarize this posting for
- me via e-mail or send me a copy of that posting?
-
-
- Thanks for any help on this.
