  12. I notice tiny dots of ink splatter around the characters on output from my new
  13. Deskwriter.  (Using a good magnifying glass).  This seems to happen
  14. with a variety of papers.  The overall effect is a smudginess.  This
  15. is *not* spread of ink through paper fibers -- these are distinct 
  16. splatters that seem to flare out from characters in the direction of
  17. print head travel.
