- In my orginal post on Powerbook 145 2/80? My intention for getting a 2/80 was
- so I could go straight to 8 meg. I will summarise what I have found out.
-
- The first response I got was mailed to me from someone on the net. It included
- a part # that he had at his school for a 145 2/80. I took the # to my dealer
- and he ran it through Apple Link and said that it was an invalid number.
-
- According to some posts and another local dealer, Apple is nolonger releasing
- machines with less than 4 meg. I completely agree with this only if all 4 meg
- is on the motherboard. Well after a couple of questions, my local Apple tech
- said that it was possible that all 4 could be on the motherboard on the 145 :)
- If this is the case then I can go to 8 meg for about $200 less than before!!!
-
- I decided that I wasn't going to find out in the time that I needed (I need the
- 145 by 9/1/92). So I went ahead and ordered a 145 4/80. As soon as it gets
- here I'll go to my friend that is a tech and take it apart. Then I'll let
- everyone know what is acutaly in there. I should have it as soon as Monday
- or as late as 1 week from monday.
