- I am planning to buy a new computer in early September,
- and I am planning to spend roughly $2500. The Technology Product
- Center at my university told me that a Mac IIsi 5/80 with an
- extended keyboard and a 13" high resolution monitor would be
- bundled and sold at $2321 (tentatively).
- I have a series of questions.
-
- 1. Does this seem like a good price?
- 2. Given the recent discussion on a new monitor being introduced,
- would I be wise to get a cheap monochrome monitor and
- wait for this new Apple monitor?
- 3. How good is the hi-res monitor anyway?
- 4. Is the IIsi significantly better than the LCII (in terms of
- speed [for non-compilers/CS persons]) and expansion capabilities?
- 5. Has Apple improved its internal disk drives since, say, four years ago?
- 6. I'm assuming that the processor for the IIsi is a 68030. Is it
- wise to purchase it if the 68040 is already in use in some
- computers?
-
- I hope there's someone out there who can answer these
- questions, and my thanks in advance!
